strikeking13 says "overall, Ottawa is a well rounded disc golf challenge. The back nine is more of a challenge than the front. Hole 6, 16, and 18 are hard holes to make 2's on. Very clean and only a 5 min drive from I-7...more5...less"
airmanpineapple says "Ottawa park is close to the University of Toledo campus, and is pretty well woven into a woodsy, tight layout. Game play is smooth, and the holes are not overly challenging, so the flow is maintained...more even when the park is packed. The front nine is a series of medium distance, right hand friendly holes, with the exception of holes 5 and 7, which are great anhyser throws. Hole 7, actually, is a fantastic hole, with plenty of soaring room for a good strong toss. Accuracy is needed through the trees on holes 4 and 5, but overall, the front nine is good for any skill set.
The back nine winds back through the more wooded north side of the park, and the difficulty dials up right from the beginning. The 10th hole starts you off with a healthy toss, and anyone below moderate isn't going to make it in three. For the big arms, there is a nice road hazard keeping you honest with your throw. The course folds back on itself and gets a little hilly after that, offering some nice down hill throws that are deceptively tough. You'll find yourself tied in by low lying branches if you get off track. There is a great "round the world" putting pin out in the middle of the field that a lot of locals treat as the "beer" hole. Be wary of errant drives when working around that area, people throw from the trees.
Overall, the environment of Ottawa is pretty open, and the course is largely family friendly, with the exception of the occasional college student ducking the cops, if you know what I mean. The course is clean and well kempt, and there's a nearby playground that is good for the little ones.
I played a tournament on this course a number of years ago, and it was a bit short for the strong players. They were coming off the pro tees with crazy scores, most of which were better than 10 under par on 18. If you're a pro, it's a great practice course, but it's not going to blow your mind.
Local presence is strong on this course, and you can often find strong disc golf supporters and community organizers near the practice pin throughout the summer selling frisbees and offering advice. It's a nice place to become part of the community if that's what you're looking for - the guys (and gals) are excited about disc golf and very friendly to new comers....less"

andrewkh says "i went to check out the ottawa park today after hearing that there was one there. after a few detours and straightening out some bad directions i finally got to the park. my first thoughts were that i...moret looked a little crowded with some of the other things at the park (shelter houses, playground equipment, baseball fields, ect.) but decided that would just add to the challenge to have to play around these things. after a quick search, i finally found the first basket, but then quickly learned that a basket alone doesn't make a disc golf course....you also need tees of some sortwhich this course had absolutly no type of tees (absolutly nothing at all to say where to begin to throw from and also no par ratings of any sort) which made this game pretty tough to play. but we drove a half hour to play this course and i didn't want to say the tip was a total waste, so we descided a spot to play from for the first hole and from there just threw from the that basket to the next hole (example: the first basket was the tee for hole 2 and so on) and we played this way up until the 7th or 8th hole when all of a sudden the course just sort of disappeared and we had to walk back the same way we came about a quarter of a mile to play from our imaginary tee for the next basket. after this the holes where then completly out of order and hard to find, not to mention setting up imaginary tee placements then became impossible. i give this dgc 2 thumbs down and i am currently trying to grow more hands so i can give it even more thumbs down. i will give this park one thing, it is a very nice looking park and it does have some serious potential, if only someone would go in rearrange the course a little bit and set up some tees and actually try to make this course remotley playable...less"

jackstraw419 says "I'd have to say this is my favorite course. Mostly because its 10 minutes from my house, and I always shoot my best here. There are no bathrooms but who needs them any ways."
utstarfire says "I started playing disc golf in August '05, and as I have been getting better, this course has challenged me in different ways. From the front tees, it is a short course, with only 1 hole over 300'. Ho...morewever, this can be decieving because some of the holes will jump out and get you if you are not careful.
All four of the courses near Toledo are free, and two of them are much more challenging. However, Ottawa Park provides a decent challenge to experienced players, great fun for newbies, and is the closest.
What to watch out for: The course layout gets a bit tricky, and the signs are basically useless. If you can, go with someone who knows the course, or follow regulars once you get around hole #8.
The downsides: Because it is the closest course to Metro Toledo, it gets crowded on nice days, and some of the pro tees are too scary to even think about walking/running up to the front.
Overall it is worth the time to get a round in if you are in Toledo, but don't make a road trip just to play this course....less"

chriswoj says "Ottawa Park's shorts are as easy as it gets. It can best be defined as a pitch-n-putt. No respectable intermediate or better player would be caught dead here with a round over par. I am serious. That ...moresaid... The courses is well maintained, with maybe one hole over 300 feet from the shorts. The shots aren't tricky, the fairways are nice and every obstacle is out in the open and easy to see. It is absolutely the ideal beginners course. If you learn to play here you will quickly find yourself confident enough to check out other courses, where you will likely find yourself with a developed midrange game (which you honed from the teepads at Ottawa). In addition there are set dirt pro tees. Usually we drive from the left or right of them because the ground on the pads themselves can get mushy. But the pro pads are a little more challenging. The tournament record is a -11 for 18 holes, but most Intermediate and Advanced players typically shoot between -3 or -4 and +3 or +4, as it does take a wide range of hyzers, s-curves, and a solid ability to throw on an anhyzer line to play from the pros. The main drawbacks to the course lie in: a) rampant pot smoking, it is a big college course with UT nearby. b) mediocre neighborhood, I have had children run off with a disc I just drove. c) Language, as it is a college area you never know what you'll hear....less"
