gibbous says "This is my second year playing and I'm a local so this is pretty much the only course I go to. We have another course here in Findlay, Ohio but it's 18 holes and a lot of woods and my game just isn't ...morethere yet.
Firestine is a par 28, 9 hole course with one par 4 and the rest par 3. I would say it's pretty beginner friendly, but if you're just starting out and like to power your drives pretty hard, it's easy to put a disc in the water on a few of the holes. Sometimes the water is crystal clear and you can jump in to fetch your disc. Other times, it stays murky for days and there's no hoping of finding your disc. If you put one in and can't find it, hopefully you have your name and number on your disc. Your chance of getting it back is 50/50 as there is a local family that walks the water and collects disc and calls people to pick them up, but there are also a lot of local kids that just keep the discs.
Holes 1 and 2 have some trees to contend with, but aren't too bad to navigate.
Hole 3 used to have a batch of trees directly in front of tee about 50 to 60' feet out, but they've since removed them and replanted new ones else where so this hole is now pretty wide open.
Hole 4 has 2 trees, one up by the basket about 30 to 40' feet in front of it and one 80 to 100' feet from the tee. They're easy enough to get around if you have control.
Hole 5 is wide open and easily my favorite whole to throw. There is a nice row of trees in line with the bask running perpendicular to the tee so there is plenty to stop you from overthrowing the basket on a drive.
Hole's 6 and 7 both have you teeing off throwing directly into the direction of the water. Hole 6 has plenty of tree's to stop you from putting one in, however hole 7 can easily be overthrown or hooked into the water if you're not careful.
Hole 8 is the par 4 with 2 trees to contend with close to the basket, but once you get around those it's smooth sailing.
Hole 9 is then completing the course ending up pretty close to the hole 2 tee off. There are some trees on the right as well as the playground and water to the left, but there is plenty of open space if you can throw stable and flat.
Overall, I like the course and usually run it twice when I go out to get 18 holes in. As a 2 year player who still hasn't found his form or consistency, I usually end up anywhere from 1 to 5 over par so I'd say as a beginner course it's decently challenging. Seasoned players may want to stop out on their way to Findlay's other course (Riverbend), but Firestine would probably not be worth a trip if you're not a local....less"

andrewkh says "this is a small nine hole dgc in findlay, oh. most of the holes are par 3 aside from one and most holes are around or under 300 ft. a fair player shouldn't have to much problem getting par on every ho...morele and will most likely get a few birdies in there. par for the course is 28. this is a fairly easy course and very beginner friendly. there are some thick groupings of mature trees on the first 3 holes and near the basket on #6, the rest of the holes are fairly open and you will only have one or two trees to deal with. holes 6-9 are along a creek and it is fairly easy to put a disc in the water and at certain times very easy to loose a disc in the water. there is very limited brush that you can loose a disc in and no poison ivy that i have seen. mosquitos get somewhat bad at certain times of the year but will leave you alone if you wear bug spray. i would not recommend traveling very much distance to play this park alone, there is however another 18 hole course in findlay and if you combined the 2 in one trip you could make a pretty good day of it....less"

Guest says "Firestine Park disc golf course is a nice place to play disc golf, the park is well maintained, there is a Kroger store close by that sells Innova discs, and there is small playground area for childre...moren and a small picnic area. The park is small though and there are only nine holes. There are no on site restroom facilities, and there is limited parking. As for the course itself, the first 3 holes have many trees to contend with. Hole 1 has a creek behind it if you over throw by too much. The distances are 272, 262,and 256 feet respectively. Hole 4 has only 2 trees but is longer at 330 feet. Hole 5 is the most open hole on the course, it has trees close behind the basket, but none it front of it, the distance is 327 feet. Hole 6 has a line of trees to throw through or around and is 218 feet, the creek comes behind this hole also. Hole 7 has a couple of trees and runs along the creek, the distance is 212 feet. Hole 8 has a few trees and also runs along the creek but is much longer at 400 feet, it is the only par 4 hole on the course. Hole 9 has the playground on one side and the creek on the other, and a few trees too. It is 271 feet. As a local I enjoy playing at this course, but since it only takes 20-30 minutes to play I don't think I would go too far out of my way just to play here....less"
