kp says "A nice short course that is easy going, allows for several different throwing techniques at each hole and makes for a fun round of disc golf, especially for new players (I brought someone for their fi...morerst time out and they didn’t struggle with this course). Lots of big (old growth) trees, but your never pigeon holed into throwing a certain way or on a certain line. I really liked the large tee pads since my home course only has small square ones. Nicely maintained course with great scenery (if you are into that).
The downside is that the course can be confusing the first time through since most baskets don’t have a number and you can sometimes see multiple baskets from a tee, but following someone else or after your first time through and this is not a problem.
My only other complaint, and this is more my preference, is that some baskets were moved from out in the open to being “bunkered” in the woods. By that I mean tucked back in the woods with 1 way in and no real way to land close to the basket off the tee. I have seen this before and it seems to be some kind of “ace proofing” method or added difficulty for difficulty’s sake; similar to adding a windmill obstacle to a ball golf green and just as silly in my eyes. This only happens twice and you can see where the basket was originally which seemed like fine locations on both holes....less"

cavman says "the course is fun and fairly easy. it is laid out well and they now move the baskets so each week will be a bit different.
I really like this course and playing it twice is no problem...more. gets a bit crowded at times but moves quickly.
hardest part is finding the entry off Riverside Dr. - just north of Lane Ave and at the edge of apartment complex when heading north - difficult to turn left - so signal early and slow....less"

rodea says "This is my home course so i am slightly bias however it is one of the most popular courses in central ohio. they just moved all the baskets around and its not any more difficult but its differant enou...moregh that it threw me way off my first time around the "new" course. In my opinion this is a fantastic course and all skill levels are present at any given time. Fun and local cant ask for much more....less"
tonecapone says "I have really honed my skills on this course. Now that they have put in second hole locations on most holes it adds a little more difficulty to the overall skill set. Improvements seem to be made ever...morey week and I cant wait to see what it may look like in the near future.
Its location is good and bad at the same time. Its good because its close. Bad because its close for everyone. Very often i see people playing with ring discs and little kids playing. This is good for the sport and all but makes it impossible for a quick round. The course is on the banks of the Scioto River and if you don't have a lot of control bad things can come on some holes, but that is why they call it a hazard. Another big thing is there are avid bikers/walkers/runners besides the course at all times and on some holes they may get in the way.
There are a lot of cool people who play here so don't be afraid to make friends and play with new people....less"
uasoar says "well it is your home coarse but i love to play there i meet the best people there and have the best times"
airmanpineapple says "If you have someone that you want to introduce to disc golf, this is the course to do it at. It's scenic, located right on the river, and set amongst the trees. The course is very well kept by the c...moreity and is usually very clean. It's also not particularly muddy after the rain, which is surprising given its proximity to the river. The course itself is not super challenging, and with the exception of two or three holes is not so long as to discourage newer players from participating with more experienced ones. Granted, the last hole is crazy long, but you'll have that. The course flows well from hole to hole, and the tee boxes are clearly marked by hole number, so a first timer wouldn't need a guide to make it through the course.
Downsides are minimal with this course. There are no facilities that I've ever seen, so that would be a downside to a family. Pedestrians can be a hazard in mid-summer, as there is a jogging / bike path through a portion of the course. The parking is gravel and adjacent to the course, so there's a risk of your car getting pegged by an errant toss or two. The woods are a nice obstacle, but they're not so over grown that they will eat your discs. The river can be a hazard on three holes, but most of the time it's receded enough that the brush on the edge keeps your discs from getting drowned.
Overall, it's a great beginners course with a few anhyser throws and some good distance on at least two holes. Several holes require a strong, straight throw, and others depend on finesse. It's a good mix to learn your chops....less"
leroux says "This was a mostly open course. Lots of ace holes. Lots of distance shots w/ minimal obsticle's. There were some old silver maple's and a huge sycamore on 18. Pro's: Was able to play 36 holes in under ...more2 hours. Con's: Not the most challenging...less"

squatch says "I like the course. Of course I am new to the game. I think there are plenty of challenges. But ways to lower your score as well. The course does need some support. I can imagine that when spring ...morecomes. The foliage will be a bigger factor. I have played every weekend since Thanksgiving. Been a pleasure thus far. Plan to be out again as weather permits. No facilities, so bring your own beverage. A Marathon Station just up the road has restrooms. Also discs for sale incase you forget yours or loose one. I could see a great scout project for clean up or spruce up on the course. I don't know how it is maintained over all. Yes it needs some love. But plays very nice. Maybe it is the best starter course going. but I bet the tournaments are great when they are there. Save some for 18, its a long one. Hope to be in once in the future. I'll keep going. My home course being so close....less"
cburke says "Griggs Reservoir Park is a course located off of Riverside Drive (Route 33) in Upper Arlington. If you really like disc golf and you're in the area for another reason, then this is a fun course to pl...moreay, albeit not terribly difficult.
This course is going to be somewhat easy for the people with experience on their side. There are some tricky shots and a par 5 18th hole adds to the difficulty. There are plenty of opportunities for birdies if you are an experienced player.
There are absolutely no facilities to speak of. The road into the parking area is dilapidated at this point and has huge pot holes in some areas. There is somewhat adequate parking, on busy days you have to walk a bit from the 18th hole. It looks like this area used to be a campground and at one time there was a building that resembled a bathroom.
There isn't much in the way of family friendliness for this course. There is a park up the road that you could leave the significant other and the kids at and come back for them after the game, but you better bring something for them to do besides swim in the dirty looking river. I wouldn't let someone that I loved swim in that.
The crowds can get pretty bad on the weekends and after 3pm on weekdays. It's not unusual to have to wait 5 to 10 minutes to start a round. The holes aren't spaced very far apart, which is a necessity considering how much land the course is on, so be prepared to wait for people to throw if it is particularly busy.
There isn't much in the way of scenery. You have a river on one side, which you can't see most of the time because of all the trees/growth next to the river. Of course on the opposite side, you have Route 33 with it's bodacious traffic. The course is littered with trees here and there. Other than that, it isn't much to look at.
All in all, it's an okay course. If it's in your area, you probably already go. If it's quite a drive for you, drive somewhere else....less"
chefenstein says "From what I hear this place usually is pretty busy. Cant say I can blame, with lots of simple straight and low shots they still manage to place a few twisting, turning technical shots in there. Enough...more to make it wreck your score if your not careful. The course plays narrow and long.Watch out for other players....less"
xelto says "This is a long, narrow park that stretches out and back down a strip along the river. It's mosly open, but is still challenging because of the winds off the river. No really memorable holes. It wou...moreld be pretty, except that the course is mostly inside a narrow corridor, and the scenery is all outside that corridor. It's also poorly marked, with no course map availible, but still navigable. There's heavy traffic, even on weekdays....less"
gdmyers says "A fairly simple course, which little elevation.... definetely doesn't take a pro to score well on this course, but very well laid out given the area they had to work with"
fortay says "I finally played the course I've heard everybody talking about. The best thing about Griggs is that it's short--extremely quick to play a round, so quick, in fact, that you should play two. Course see...moremed fairly short to me except for a few holes and inaccurate drives (mine) aren't punished too badly unless they land behind a tree. It's pretty wide open so if a drive gets past the trees, you're in good, birdie shape. A lof of similar holes and many ace oppurtunities. A great course for a beginner as long as he doesn't mind playing in front of and behind other groups....less"
devioushoneyflex says "This course is a hard one for me to review. While it's one of my personal favorites, one must keep a realistic head about them. This course is a great one for the area. It's challenge comes from tryin...moreg to keep your disc on the hole you're attempting and not putting it in one of the other fairways that seem to be almost stacked upon each other. Some long holes and some short give good variety to the course (which is tucked into a natural "bowl" along route 33 in Columbus. Wide open with out alot of obstacles in you path can make a long hole seem short and vice versa. A good course to polish your drive on, but don't look to develop strategy here....less"
mcoppel says "Course can be busy during prime hours. Layout is basic but nice. many holes in the 300 plus range."
brucekline says "Local Disc Club (Columbus Flyers) had plans for "b" poles for this course. Still waiting. As a lefty, the trees are more challenging for me due to the relative closeness to the tee. Have seen course c...morelosed some weekends for RV gatherings so I can see why not a lot can be done to make the course a little more challenging. "b" poles will change that. Contact the Columbus Flyers and find out what's holding that up!...less"
JTMelton says "This course is all open and fun to play. You will find a lot of people there so be prepared to wait a little."
kyleb says "This is an ok couse. Its pretty short, but well kept. Its got a lot of college kids on it since its pretty close to Ohio State. Worth playing, wouldn't be my first choice though."
dandavis says "no i am not talking about the feathered ones, this is the birdie capitol.duece or loose good layout for the space available lots of fun to play"
jonmoore says "This course delivers a challenge for all players alike. The fact that it is along side a river, makes conditions more extreme. When the wind it blowing, expect more altered disc flight. When its reall...morey humid out, expect sudden disc drops. etc. I would assume that leftys would have just about the same advantage as rightys do in this course. There is usually a decent amount of people. Most of the time a local pro or am might be there. The amount of obsticles keeps you on your toes, and the river next to you, forces you to make wise shots, or youll be either disc-less or taking a swim!...less"
milesd says "has to be my least favorite course in Columbus... like the other reviews say it's pretty cut-n-dry, no TOO challenging. Does need a variety of throws, but not much finesse... it's a decent course... g...moreood for beginners to get down the basics of play, it tends to get busy on really nice days...less"
captnzro says "i play here alot because my closest other option is balgriffen, which a waste of time if you are more than a couple of miles away. Griggs is maintained ok, but needs some cleaning particularly on the ...moreback 9. Fairly bland course, especially if you are used to or started playing at hoover like i did....less"
roy says "This course is built between Riverside Drive and the river. Its long and narrow, not the ideal location for a course but the designers did the best with what they had. Good signs, concrete tees and qu...moreality targets. Not a lot of obsticles and half the holes are strait shots. The driveway needs patched, so drive SLOW after turning off Riverside, hey thats Columbus for ya.
I go there about once a month for something different and to practice my drives. No restrooms but I'm a guy so that doesn't bother me. I reccomend it to anyone thats enthusiastic about the sport....less"
funnel says "Fairly open. Not very many interesting holes. Good for practicing your drives."
