Reviews

calcuttajoe says "This course is fairly open. It is well layed out with water in play on some holes. Not too challenging. Alot of fun."

golfinguss says "I thought this course was wonderful! The different tees for novice, am, and pro make it really fun and challenging for all skill levels! The park in itself is really nice which just adds to the expe...morerience! The signs and very accurate and tell you exactly where you need to go!! I traveled up here from Dayton to see a friend and tried out a few courses on the way and this is by far the best organized and visually stimulating! Highly recommended!!...less"

chainsniper says "I really enjoyed playing this course. They have a lot of long and open holes that you can really let loose on. They also have a few wooded and water holes to play. Overall it was a nice mix and a f...moreun course to play. We really liked that they had 27 holes as well. Good luck and have fun! :)...less"

dozanti1 says "this is the most fun i have had on a course. a couple holes play very well to the left hand thrower. its open at times and its tight at times. tee pads are great a lot of long holes to grip and rip on...more. In my mind this is a must play course....less"

basmith42 says "Wow.. that's about all I can say about the Aboretum and Spiker park courses.

I played this course on my third time out. All I can say is that (as a beginner) it felt very long and ver
...morey challenging. The length of the holes, though, definately made me work on my form. The water hazard made me think about my game (like I used to playing ball golf).

There are a few holes where the player is forced to throw down a path on thier approach to the pin. This forced me to work on accuracy. Other elements of the course required me to attempt different throws than I would have otherwise.

All in all, the course was challenging enough to make it very intresting and improve my understanding of the game while being kind enough to not to severely punish me when I made a bad shot.

I can't wait to throw it again. I might even take another day off work to play it.

alittleover40 says "Recently played the course with my wife and 10 year old son. It has plenty of variety (trees/wooded areas, water holes, and a few wide open holes. Nice course that we'll go back and play again. We ...moreliked the score cards/map and pencils at #1. Only negative is that the signage could be updated. Once again, worth the visit...less"

billgod says "I love this park simply because it's around the corner from my house. The people that play the course every day think it's too easy but those new to the game and course don't seem to think so. There...more are long holes and holes you can Ace. right turns left turns and everything in between....less"

dizzydevo says "I've played only a handful of courses since my start in 07 but this is one that will give a good challenge for each hole. My biggest complaint is the signs are all worn and damaged. My first time th...moreere I got through the first 6 holes and got lost trying to figure out where the rest of the course was. Someone else pointed me in the right direction but I still couldn't find Hole 7 tee. It was cold and lightly raining that day so I said forget it and went home. The Turkey Bowl will give me a clue.

Once I was with others that knew the course and I got to play all 24 holes I had a blast. The distances are a killer for beginers but that will come as they play more. The technical side provides opportunity for many types of throws, so start learning flight control if your just starting out. At least there is tons of open areas for wayward throws on most holes, the water area holes are tough so be prepared to lose a few discs.

The main thing needed is new signs and course navigation signs that give better detail for the newbies. When I saw the sign pointing to holes 7-14 the path next to it looked like it went behind the houses across the street. At that time little did I know that it was pointing down the street and not towards the houses. Heck the path that way looked well used so why not. There is no sign pointing to the hole 7 tee that I saw and there was the confusion, I saw tee pads but no signs saying what hole they were for or if they were long or short.

lockoff says "Arboretum is mildly long course, at 24 holes. There's plenty of chances to use a driver, but also many shorter mid-range or putter holes. The course deviates from being mildly challenging to rather ...morestraight-forward, but there are enough interesting holes to make it worth a regular trot if you live in the area. However, I have to say I wouldn't use the restroom facilities at the park at all. I certainly think there's a problem when a bathroom at a park is used as a place to 'meet' people....less"

tovissi14 says "Great course if you like to unload all of your power into your drives. There are some very long holes and then there are short ones as well. Throwing around the ponds on some of the holes gives you so...moreme difficulty that the course as a whole lacks. Great course to play for fun....less"

shimko22 says "Great Course. Could be better if the city of Canton took some care of it. Long holes, Short holes, all of your game will be tested. Gets pretty easy after a few rounds though."

cblay22 says "Nice park in a nice neighborhood. Course is fun to play. Mostly open with all sorts of options off the tee. Can get mundane if playing there often."

renohaney says "Long, open fairways with a few wooded holes. 27 holes with a few water hazards makes this a great stop. Bring some new players."

bates says "… then spare the cat by finding something else to throw, and get out to arboretum-spiker for a workout!!! quite a few of the 27 holes have two tees: (i) long and (ii) the next county over. other tha...moren the distance, there aren’t really any super challenging holes. just stay out of the 2-parts stench, 1-part water hazards. overall, i’d recommend this course for beginners, though it caters to all skill levels....less"

gemarsh says "Nice for long throwers, and lots of reachable holes. Love the water hazards!"

gdmyers says "This course has a lot of difficulty, its a very technical course, but suited well to all levels. Better players will have a great time shooting for that low score and beginners will enjoy a bit of fo...morergiveness. A lot of good playable holes throughout two parks....less"

fortay says "I love this course and I'd drive 3 hours to play it again. The 27 holes offer a good variety of left and right turns. Underbrush in the woods is low so disc finding is relatively easy. Some long holes...more and some short and some water holes. Even a really nice woman who lives across the street who offered to let us use a remote controlled boat to retrieve my tee shot. The course is beautiful, although 27 holes is a bit long for a disgustinly humid day. Two tee locations for most holes and playing from the pro tees made us feel pretty good about our game.
Two less-than-stellar things:
=the course is quite difficult to follow--if I hadn't played with a friend who's played it before, I'd have a tough time figuring out where the next tee is. And the maps for each hole need replaced.
=The course doesn't punish bad throws. That's a good thing for me because I finished my 27 at 5 under, which means the course may be a bit easy. But it's great fun and some really perfect holes.

devioushoneyflex says "I had farted around at the same three courses ( Blendon, Griggs, and ofcourse Brent Hambrick) for a few years before a friend of mine brought me out to this course, and I have only been able to go bac...morek once since...regrettably. This is a beautiful course with not alot to offer in the way of tree obstacles. One of the few I have had the pleasure of playing with water hazards, this course has alot to show in the way of long-distance throws as well....less"

hunt says "I'am always happy when there are baskets in the ground. The layout of this course was ok. A couple walks here and there that were long and confusing. Had to stop and ask a couple locals here and there...more where the next tee was. A lot of the teeboxes werent marked but you would know when you got to the basket. Course diefintely needs tee signs. Coolest thing about course was the pond which a couple holes you had to throw over it. Another thing is that I think that this course was not beginner friendly do to most of the holes being 400+...less"

dick says "This course is all about control and shot placement, an errant drive could require a search party to recover. I played here June 3rd and it rained all over us making for an even bigger challenge. With...more narrow lanes and an oftentimes low ceiling this course is not for the big arms that are used to bombing around Canton's Arboretum....less"

bluefate says "I love this course. The majority of the holes are wide enabling you more room for error, but still manage a good shot. Rain will make for an interesting round due to the grass becoming logged with wat...moreer. What I like the most about this course is it having 24 holes. One full round is a good workout on both your body and your game. Have Fun....less"

enix says "Nice because it has two levels of difficulty (Long Tees & Short Tees) Long Drives for both, so strech good!"

aptriner says "This is a great course for distance and enjoying the scenery. You must be able to throw long to score under, but acuracy is not a huge factor."

irvindm says "24 holes is a lot longer than I thought. I like this course. It can get a little mucky after a rain, but overall, if you like throwing for distance, this is a fun course. There are the shorter hole...mores, but the long ones test your arm and your stamina....less"

michaelmote says "I have enjoyed playing here many times, but the 24 holes contain several very long holes, that favor longer throwers than me. It has a nice shot selection, and some tough water hazards that collect m...moreany discs. There are two sets of tees, so the shorter throwers can opt for the short tees. Worth the trip....less"

danbraucher says "one of my home courses. this place is worth travelling distance to play. there are 24 holes that range from 200-750ft. trees and water on most holes. longer tees have been installed on 5-6 holes now. ...more little elevation change but great scenery.

this place teases you with "go for it" holes when you know better! OB and obstacles always a factor.

well laid out course, nice concrete tee pads, this course will test your arsenal.
