- Shut up and throw
Went out tonite with idea of trying to shoot my best round from the whites. No mulligans, etc. I missed some EASY birdie putts, and had some ugly bogies, but ended up with even par (course par of course:P). The best part, and maybe my favorite all time golf moment, was on 14. I threw my Starfire with just a tad of hyzer, and with about 75% effort. It went out a ways and flipped up. I crouched down to watch it fly, with the sun shining and the beautiful blue sky above, filled with giant white clouds. Once my beat up Starfire got flat, it started turning over...kept going to the right for awile, came back and was going straight about basket level. At first I thought I had really over shot the basket, but as the disc started to fade, it started looking really good. I had time to say something like "come on baby, get in there"...and then DOINK!!
Disc went right into the bottom of the back side of the basket, and bounced right out!! Man I wish someone was there to share that with me. lol I WILL ace that hole someday...someday. Saved birdie with a 20' putt, and then had my absolute best drive ever from the whites on 15. Disc was about 1' past the red T, center of fairway. MAAAAAN why can't I ever throw like on a Thursday night!! :P
Greg and Kev took me up there today. Man, I really liked that course! Wish I could play it more often, as it would really help me with my accuracy. Greg & Kevin beat up on me of course, but I hope to shoot better the next time I go.
By the way, did you guys know that Destroyer's float? LOL
Was in Malvern riding at Elson Street this morning for a few hours, and decided to cruise over to Minerva's DG course afterward. I just went around as quickly as possible. It was pretty fun. You can sure get 9 holes in quickly there. :) I couldn't figure out where the tee pad for #8 was, so I skipped that hole. I had planned on dropping by Gero's course after that, but it was getting late, and the wife and kids were calling me wanting me home, so that one will have to wait.
I could see a disc in the creek, but couldn't tell how deep the water was, and I was in a hurry.
Dad and I got in a quick round last night...just shot from the red. Started at 10th T. When we came through on 1, there were TWO red fox scampering around at the bottom of the hill along those evergreen bushes or whatever they are...small pines? Anyway, it was cool to see them...pretty rare to see fox that early in the day.
They are probably rabid, so watch your asses out there. LOL
Tonite was the first night of Deis doubles league, and the first time I've ever played anything organized. Only 6 turned out, but it was a good time. It was more fun that I thought it would be...hope we get a bigger crowd next time.
