Additional details!!!!

Check in will start at 10am. Players meeting at 10:30. First round play WILL START at 11. We will be on time. We decided to start a little later to allow people to sleep in but we still need to get in two rounds before dark!

Price to play is $20 per person. There will be no seperate divisions. Half of the collected funds will go to the Euclid Food Bank. Format will be: One round of open play, score cards will be collected after the round, lunch eaten and then players matched up according to their finish from the first round. For example, the top scoring player will be matched with the bottom scoring player, the second player with the second from the bottom and so on. If there are an odd number of players, the middle three players will be formed into a three person team.

The funds not being turned over to the Food Bank will be distributed as prizes to the winning teams. Our goal is to try and pay out half the field. Additionally, there will be a CTP awarded for each hole in competition. These will be distributed after both rounds are played.

We are working on getting lunch put together for all either at the course or someplace close to the course.

Direct any questions to myself at ej dot wernet at gmail dot com.

See you in Euclid! Safety First!

For the Euclid Ice Bowl, I understand the parity of the 2nd round grouping from the 1st round score. Do the individual scores from the first round get added to the total final score? Or is the first round a separate payout/event?
What's to stop someone (me) from tanking the first round so I can team up with the person that just shot 8 down?

If the first "event" is a payout event would that keep a "tanking" from occurring? I guess I was hoping for some honest play, in the spirit of Ice Bowl generosity. Of course, I am more than willing to change things up to ensure truthfulness and the American Way!

This was all just hypothetically speaking. Of course everyone will be doing their absolute best to score well.
I like the "idea" of the pairings, I just wasn't sure if the first round counted for anything.

I think the guest was asking a question in their last sentence, Eric.

What do you think of keeping the best score from the first round and playing the doubles round as an alternate shot round? Or worst shot?

I stopped in and played a few holes today aand with the exception of a couple of dingers that bounced off the basket I played good for not being there in acouple of months. Im looking foward to it. I dont understand the scoring system but, Ill findout as I'm playin', not too worried about it.

Here's the dealio on the format. Two rounds of 20. First round is just that, a round of golf. Groups of 3-4, your choice of partners. Scores will be kept and turned in at lunch. This will be provided of course! Second round will be scramble format. Pairings will be determined on how you finished the first round. Low score paired with high score. Second lowest score with second highest score and so on. At the moment the format is best lie but that might change on Sunday but only due to time constraints.

For each pairing, the best score of the two will carry over into the second round. For example, Mel throws a 54 and her partner throws a 60, you carry the 54 into the second round as your starting score. Second round will be added to that.

There will be CTP's available on EVERY hole. There will be a drawing afterwards to determine the distribution of these prizes. Count on a 50/50 raffle also.

Mark Thompson has also volunteered to kick in some Jamison and wander the course offering $2 sips, all proceeds headed towards the Euclid Food Bank.

email me with additional questions!!!! see my profile for addy.

HEY HEY! We did it! Euclid Disc Golf Club's first Ice Bowl is now history. We managed to better our goal of $500, we will be dropping off $607 to the Euclid Food Project this week along with three or four boxes of food. Many thanks to all of you who traveled up to Sims and played in the rain. We ended up with a beautiful afternoon, sunny and even warm!

Many thanks for everyone for their contributions to make this event work so well. We are already planning on what to do for next year's event! The winning team was Chris Barbo and Rosa, holding off a determined run by Leroy Jenkins and the birthday boy, Andrew Skovran!

THANKS AGAIN FROM THE EDGC! Safety First!
